Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Real Life Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
God
There is only one eternally existing God. In Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead. We do not believe in three distinct persons, or the Trinity as it is labeled, but rather we see in the Bible that he is The One. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. He put on a robe of flesh to provide a perfect sacrifice for our sins, died and was buried, and then rose with all power. He is the living God! God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Mankind
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. We were created to praise and commune with Him.
The Fall
When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they were driven from the Garden, and were bound by the wages of sin. God promised to send a Saviour to redeem the sins of humanity, and provide a way of escape from Hell.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to Earth be the perfect sacrifice. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. He arose from the dead and now, through grace, offers the gift of eternal life to all who will follow Him.
He gave Peter the keys to the kingdom. (Matthew 16:19) Peter then preached these keys on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Ghost fell on each of them in the Upper Room. They spoke with other tongues as the Spirit filled them. (Acts 2) We believe salvation requires repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and receiving the infilling of the Holy Ghost, Christ's Spirit dwelling within us, evident by speaking in tongues.
(Acts 2:38)
